Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival : Arrive at Tribhuven International Airport where your representative from GA Travels will meet you and take you by private car to your hotel in Thamel. Spend the night resting or experiencing the nightlife in Kathmandu.
Day 2—Kathmandu : The walk begins early as you leave Thamel and travel first to Kathesimbhu Stupa, a miniature version of Swayambhu. From here, pass numerous temples until we reach Durbar Square, home of the living goddess called the Kumari as well as being the site of some 60 impressive temples in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, we take a vehicle to Swayambhu to visit one of the most sacred places in Buddhism, dating back 2000 years. The tour continues to Budhanilantha to see the magnificent 5 meter long carving of Lord Vishnu sleeping on the cosmic sea. Return from here to your hotel.
Day 3 – Bhaktapur & Nagarkot : Leave Kathmandu for the city of Bhaktapur. This city was once its own kingdom, and it contains a magnificent palace, a living goddess as well as many temples. In the afternoon, visit Changu Narayan, home of the oldest temple in the valley. Both sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From Changu Narayan, travel to the top of the mountain to Nagarkot where you will watch sunset over the Himalayas before going to sleep for the night at a great mountain lodge.
Day 4 – Return to Kathmandu : Get up early to watch the sunrise over the snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas. From there, enjoy a good breakfast before we return to Kathmandu to catch your flight to your next destination.
